DIY Rotary Phase Converters KITs

DIY Rotary type Phase Converter Kits are designed to generate the 3rd phase, allowing you to build your own rotary phase converter. These kits enable you to power 3-phase equipment using standard single-phase 230VAC power.

To complete your setup, you will need a 3-phase motor (new or used) that serves as your idler/generator motor. This motor creates the third leg of power required for true 3-phase output. 

Motor Sizing Recommendation:

To ensure full power operation, your idler (generator) motor must be at least 50% larger in horsepower (HP) than the 3-phase motor you want to run.

Example:

To run a 5 HP, 230V, 3-phase motor at full power:
→ You will need a 7.5 HP, 230V, 3-phase motor (1750 or 3600 RPM, new or used) to serve as the generator.
