DC motor drives offer a practical solution for conveyors because they provide full torque from as low as 1 RPM all the way to full speed, are generally more affordable, and are easier to work with. In many applications, regenerative-reversible DC speed controllers can also be used to run the motor in both directions—eliminating the need for more complex and expensive servo systems.
